Aeronautical engineers are constantly integrating additional functions into components. Cost-effective precision sand castings are the answer to their design requirements. They also reduce development time. The recent technological progress is giving a new boost to premium sand casters who are now working on large aerospace components such as Aircraft doors and Engine casings

Another innovation is: AS7U1G, the alloy of the future.
It enables to improve the characteristics of conventional foundry alloys (+ 10 to 20 % on static properties, and + 30 to 50 on dynamic properties) while moulding capacities remain the same.

Forging Stock

Alcan Global Aerospace’s cast billets and slabs cover a vast range of alloys and physical dimensions.
Billets are available in diameters up to 860 mm and in lengths up to 5 m.
Slabs are available in thicknesses of up to 470 mm, widths up to 1.4 m and lengths up to 4 m.
The slabs can be shaped by:

  • forging
  • die-forging
  • ring-rolling
  • machining
